Objective of PICME

Many children in the state lose their lives even before they enter the world. Pregnancy is an important strain in a woman’s life. Insufficient healthy food, unhealthy lifestyle, and inadequate care during pregnancy lead to the death of the mother or child. In view of this, the Tamil Nadu government has started PICME. With this, the state government will be able to take good care of pregnant mothers and infants. For the last decade, the death rate of pregnant women has seen a decrease, but its number is still not zero. For this, the government is trying its best.
Benefits of PICME:
As we have already told that pregnant women of the state will have to register themselves, after which they will be provided various types of facilities. After registration, RCH etc. will be provided to them, after which the government will give benefits of various facilities for their care. Let us know about it in detail below.
Convenience in Pregnancy:
Pregnant women of the state will have to go to the PICME portal and get their registration done. Once the registration of the woman is complete, the local nurses will start tracking them. From time to time, the nurse will checkup the woman and will take special care during the pre-natal phase. Apart from this, the nurse will also help them in using the portal properly and will also upload the necessary documents on the portal so that they can take all the necessary help from the state government. Special care will be taken of the food, health, lifestyle and care of the woman during pregnancy. Due to this, the woman will not have to face any kind of trouble during childbirth.
Financial assistance will also be provided to the beneficiary under this scheme. Under this, the beneficiaries who have registered themselves under PICME will be provided financial assistance of Rs 18000 under Dr. Muthulakshmi Reddy Scheme. This amount will be given in many installments, about which we know point wise.
- If you have registered at the right time, then the first installment will be sent before 12 weeks. An amount of Rs 2000 will be provided as the first installment. If you register late, it may take longer to send money.
- After that, the second installment will be paid within the 3rd month. This amount will be sent to the beneficiary’s bank account.
- Third installments will be sent to the beneficiary’s bank account after 4 months of registration.
- An amount of Rs 2000 will be provided again in the next installment.
- After that 4000 rupees will be given under the 5th installment. This amount will be given only when the delivery is done in a government hospital in Tamil Nadu.
- After that, 4000 rupees will be sent again to the bank account of the beneficiary under the 6th installment. This amount will be sent when the child is vaccinated with OPA / Rota / Peneta with 2 IPV doses.
- Finally, the final installment of Rs 2000 is paid after the last vaccination of Measles-Rubella which should occur before the 12th month of infancy.
Birth certificate is one of the biggest facilities available under PICME registration. You must all know that it becomes difficult to get a child’s birth certificate after delivery. But women who are registered under PICME will not have any problem. For this, they will just have to give information about their registration number in the hospital, after which the birth certificate of the child will be easily obtained. It is very difficult to get a birth certificate without registering.
